Spivey Insurance Group was given a Community Service Award for their Involvement in 2012

Spivey Insurance Group was given a Community Service Award.

We were so shocked, yet honored to have received such a wonderful award. We were awarded $750 to our charity of choice for our community service this past year. Since Spivey Insurance was nominated for this award because of the involvement with The Arc of Union, Cindy’s Hope Chest, and Christmas Bureau of Union County, we thought it was only fair to third the award. Each organization received a check for $250. We are so glad to be able to give once again to these well deserved organizations.
The Arc of Union County is a non-profit that supports developmental disabilities for children, adults and families. Melinda Plue and her staff do an unbelievable job throughout the county. Cindy’s Hope Chest, is a local non-profit that supports women battling breast cancer emotionally and financially. Cindy is the founder and breast cancer survivor.  The Christmas Bureau is a nonprofit organization that helps the needs of low income families in the Union County. It was a pleasure to work side by side with Gloria Haney, volunteer services coordinator, on several fundraisers this past year.

Since the beginning of 2012, Spivey Insurance has sponsored many other community events in the area. The Agency partnered with a local radio station to support the local police force with offering a “Police Officer of the Month.” Also, the Agency partnered with local businesses to raise money for children in need, as well as family needs throughout the year.   We participated in the local events around our town of Indian Trail, including Family Fun Day, Cultural Arts Day, Veterans Memorial , speaker at local high schools for connecting Business to the classrooms, and so many more activities.

Chris & Sandra Spivey have been active members in their community for years. They say, “It’s the best part of owning a business, having the ability to give back to the community we live and work in every day.” They have truly built community relationships with the non-profits, and local businesses in their area.  “We live in a great town with wonderful and caring people, “says Chris Spivey.
