How to File Taxes

The most dreadful time of the year has arrived. It is officially tax filing season and this means picking up our W2’s, 1040s, etc. We must file taxes every year, but it is not something that we look forward to. To make the process somewhat easier, there are several options to pick from when filing taxes. Specific businesses such as H&R Block, Liberty Tax Service, and Jackson Hewitt are all options when filing taxes. Certified Public Accountants (CPA) can also guide you in the tax filing process. Different places have varying prices, depending on different factors. If it is not convenient for you to go to a brick and mortar then there is the option to use online tax services like TurboTax.

The most important thing is to make sure taxes are filed on time and correctly. The IRS filing deadline is April 15th. The tax filing process needs to be completed by this date. However, an extension can be filed under certain circumstances. Fortunately, tax professionals know the rules and guidelines and can answer any questions or concerns that you may have. If ever in doubt, always ask because there can be penalties if the correct process for filing taxes isn’t done properly. Gather all tax information and records beforehand to ensure that you are organized. Being organized can makes things less frustrating and overwhelming. Whether you are a business owner or an employee for someone else keep track of important information and follow all tax guidelines.
