26 Nov Union County Christmas Bureau Annual Golf Tournament Sponsored by Spivey Insurance Group
The 6th Annual Spivey Insurance Christmas Bureau Golf Tournament will be on December 2nd at 10am at Rolling Hills Country Club. We are asking for community support in Union County for a special organization that is near and dear to our hearts at Spivey Insurance Group, the Union County Christmas Bureau. This is a great event at Rolling Hills Country Club that allows golfers to raise money for a good cause during the holiday season.
The Union County Christmas Bureau opened on Monday, October 2nd and began accepting applications from families that request assistance for the Christmas season. Applications will be taken until November 17th. The Union County Christmas Bureau was organized in 1983 to help meet the needs of low income families in our communities. The Christmas Bureau became a collaborative effort of many agencies within Union County including churches, civic groups, schools, and businesses.
Today, the Union County Christmas Bureau assists over 2,000 families each year and in order to continue to meet the needs of this growing number, we need help from others in our community. In addition to more than 600 volunteers, the Christmas Bureau relies on monetary donations, toy and gift item donations, and family sponsorships. Individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations can find at least one way they can assist and help others in the community. 100% of our proceeds from the golf tournament go towards helping families in Union County. In the past five years, Spivey Insurance has raise $43,894. Last year we raised $14,524. Our goal for this year is $15,500. We are in the process for businesses to donate free services like coupons for our golfers goodie bags. Your business may not have items to donate, but you can donate money or toys that go directly to the UC Christmas Bureau.
